DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, provides security to almost 800,000 young immigrants that were brought to the United States as children and for most of them, the United States is the ONLY home they know.

Pamela Powers Hannley provides her opinion in this article. This quote from her article is exactly how we feel at AZPSq;

“The crux of the problem is that DACA was created because Congress shirked its duty on meaningful immigration reform. For 16 years, Congress has failed to pass any immigration reform– let alone comprehensive reform, which is sorely needed.”

To penalize these DACA recipients because of the impotency of the Congress to craft meaningful immigration legislation, speaks volumes about the cruel and hateful forces that have overtaken our Democracy.

There is a rally today, September 6, 2017 for those in solidarity with DACA recipients. The Rally starts at 4pm at De Anza Park, 1000 N Stone Ave with a March towards Tucson City Hall immediately following.
